Cursor: usage, quota and replies

Agent HUD reads Cursor's usage from your Cursor account: your plan's quota and the tokens behind it. It also tells you when Cursor replies on this Mac.

What you see on the HUD

The glow and the hover show each part of your Cursor plan that the account reports, such as included usage, Cursor's own models, other models, a spending limit, a team's pooled usage or on-demand usage, with the reset Cursor gives. The plan shown is your membership.

Which account does it count against?

The user signed in to Cursor on this Mac, labelled with the email Cursor keeps. Tokens and sessions come from that account, so they include work from other computers signed in to it. Those sessions are never shown as running here.

Running turns and replies

Agent HUD does not show Cursor working during a turn. When a generation ends on this Mac, a New reply reminder appears. It comes through Cursor's completion hook, which the release adds to Cursor's settings while client hooks are on and removes when they are off. Approvals and questions stay in Cursor.

What does Agent HUD read?

The sign-in Cursor keeps in its own database, read without changing it, and your account's usage from Cursor's service: the usage summary for the quota, and the last seven days of usage events for tokens and sessions. Session titles come from Cursor's local chats. No message goes to a model.

On iPhone and Apple Watch

On the same network as the release, iPhone and Apple Watch show Cursor's quota, tokens and sessions without a subscription. Agent HUD Remote shows them on any network.

Questions

Why do sessions from another computer appear?

Cursor reports usage for the account, not for the machine. Agent HUD lists what the account reports and never marks those sessions as running.
